black & white photographs taken by Ursula Graham Bower between 1937 and 1946

caption: Young Eastern Angami men. These two young men, both very decorative, accompanied our party up Japvo, out of curiosity to see the peak. There were snow patches on the summit. The young men had never seen snow before. They were surprised when they stepped in it and found it cold. They were much interested and handled and tasted it.
