text: The Lhotas, especially the women, seem drabber and far uglier than the Aos. All the Lhota women I have so far seen are dressed in grubby blouses with drab tight skirts well above the knee. There seem nowadays to be no standard tribal clothes for the women. Their hair hangs down on the nape of the neck in an untidy bun, tied round with hair strings. Their ornaments are dull-pewter and rough brass bracelets and black plantain-seed necklaces.
