text: I was prevented from doing so however by the arrival of the lower Ang from Mon. He came together with the deaf mute brother of the Ang of Longkhai who is a famous carver. He brought me the figure of a crouching man well done but without the real artistic flare which is sometimes found in the small heads. He requested a fantastically high price but then was satisfied with less. I found out some things about Mon from the Ang, Yan-man. Chingai, the dobashi from Oting who is here right now on his way to Mokokchung, did the translating.
