text: Camp Chongtore 15/11/1936.
text: Was woken up by bagpipes at half past five and got up at six. It was still quite dark. At breakfast we decided that Williams and Smith with the column would take the direct way to Chongtore through the valley between the two villages while Mills and I would go through the hills and reach the camp by a detour. The reason was that this way we would see several villages. As the entire region is completely peaceful we did not think it necessary to take an escort (189) and we started off about half past seven only accompanied by a dobashi and several boys.
