text: On the way to Borjan I met whole columns of Wakching people, among them the gaonburas Chinyang and Yongang who came from the market at Santok. (179) This is strange at this time of year when there is so much to do in the fields and only recently a man from Wakching had told me that now no one would work in the plains, not even for daily pay of 8 annas.
