text: (59) An elder brother marries the wives of a younger if the latter dies, and the younger the elder's wives.
text: ATU who died before his father was Ang together with his father.
text: If two men have a severe quarrel the fine will be taken by the Ang - if there is only a small quarrel and a small fine the wronged man gets the fine. Nobody will dare to quarrel with the Ang - the Ang's men would kill him. If the Ang's servants quarrel with another man or commit adultery and have no money, the Ang will pay the fine. (60) No fine will hardly ever be taken from the Ang, for instance if his cattle destroy other people's fields, or if his son commits adultery. Only if his son takes away another man's wife he will pay a fine.
text: The Ang gives the time for village gennas. At the great gennas he also kills pigs etc.
text: The Ang is not addressed in any special way, but by the relationship term and his name.
text: If someone kills a Great Ang in war he will die of leprosy (informant: Chingai).
text: (61) The villages, every house, gives about three or four seers of rice to the Ang, and work on his fields, and of every mithan, buffalo and cow killed he receives one hind leg.
text: The Ang goes to war and the enemies are very anxious to kill the Ang - three Ang's of Mon were already killed by Totok, and in the war with Tang one Ang of Mon was killed.
text: If the Ang visits another village he can take food prepared by ordinary people, but on a separate plate. In his village two or three maid-servants (62) cook for him. He doesn't eat goat, only the very old people eat goat at all. If the Ang has finished the social gennas he will not eat from tiger's kill.
text: MEWANG has done the gennas for his elder brother (who was dead) and once in the name of his son, but not for himself, and he will make it again for Dadzai, not for himself because he is old.
