text: To Kohima. The Dzulu bridge needs further protection by sausages and it needs to be done at once. I told the Mohurrir to start collecting stones. I put up a couple of black partridges on the way down to the river. The Chinese Francolin does not apparently come so far west as this, nor does the black partridge, they say, exist in the Lania Valley where the other bird is found.
