text: (70) Dec. 3rd Pherjol. 14.
text: Fine sunrise, with much cloud in valleys and glorious view,
text: Went up village to finish drawing loom. Got sketch done. Photographed cliffs of Hatea for Jeff. Had a most able man with the cameras, best yet. Marched by usual Naga path, our last. Undulating, with much bamboo and some partly open country, but largely well-shaded and few really bad climbs. Lunched just short of Kuangsang, a huge, straggling village. Quaffed zu for honour of Raj, heaven help my tummy. Photographed headman, a fine old pagan.
text: K.D. reported better in a.m. F. chowkidar brought baby subject to boils. Issued Enos.
text: Had large curry dinner backed by (72) Jeff's most ferocious cocktails and all went to bed delightfully tight and quite riotous. Had lengthy and gin flavoured discussion on theology round the fire. Jeff, bathing, kept falling blasphemously through cracks of very insecure floor. (This before cocktails!)
