text: 30. No cases of importance between the people of the Naga Hills districts and Manipur subjects occurred during the year. At the beginning of November 1890 there was considerable excitement amongst the Manipur Kukis near Henima and fighting was expected in which our Kukis threatened to join. On receiving news of this, the Deputy-Commissioner at once strengthened the Henima guard, advised the Political Agent of the state of things, and warned our Kukis that if they went to fight in Manipur, they might stop there, but that they would not be allowed to return to British territory. These measures had the desired effect and things quieted down.
text: The Manipur Darbar is reported to have exercised very little control over its Kacha Naga and Kuki villages in the Henima direction. Our Kacha Naga villages have more than once complained of being threatened by Kacha Naga villages from the Manipur side of the Barak river.
