text: 61. Our relations with these tribes have been friendly throughout the year. A good many men come across into British territory each year to trade. Beyond the Dikhu raiding, head-taking and burning villages seem to be as much in vogue as ever. During his tour in the Ao country the headmen of one village came in to see the Deputy Commissioner of the Naga Hills and prayed that they might be taken under our protection and allowed to pay revenue. Mr. Savi and Captain Shakespear visited the village of Tablung in February and were well received by the people.
