text: 16. The Melomi-Primi area was formally included in the Naga Hills district. The outpost at Primi was withdrawn and certain villages in the area were assessed to revenue. The small area to the north-west of the Somra Tract which has long been under the de facto control of Manipur and which is known as the "cross-hatched area" was formally made over to the State. There were as usual a few inter-tribal feuds in the unadministered area.
text: The Secretary of State has accepted in principle the proposal for the formation of an area of political control along the eastern boundary of the Naga Hills and steps are being taken to fix the boundary.
