text: The men's houses of most Thendu villages lacked the open front porch so characteristic a feature among the Thenkoh, and from the outside were indistinguishable from large dwelling houses. One of the morungs was usually called the Ang-morung and stood opposite the chief's house. Here was kept the majority of captured heads, and in the hall stood a large wooden chief's seat, decorated with carvings of hornbill heads.
