text: Shuidzing knew of the affair and often threatened Meniu, saying that she would tear her earlobes, a favorite action of jealous wives, and in view of the large, heavy earrings worn by Konyak women, a threat easily carried out. In the meantime Meniu became pregnant again, and this time by Metlou, but Metlou could not marry Meniu and claim the child without offending the men of his own morung, which was also the morung of Weiku. But he divorced Shuidzing, and paid her father the heavy compensation of two fields, eight brass plates, and one pig. Shuidzing returned to her parents' house, taking her son Louming with her. Later, she married an immigrant from Chi village and kept her son.
