text: The entire village had embraced Christianity, and I was told that although such seasonal feasts as the Oulingbu were still celebrated, all sacrifices and indigenous rituals were omitted. Rice beer was no longer openly drunk but in their own houses people continued to drink. Henphong offered us rice beer as well as tea, and he showed us a photograph album with pictures of the wedding of his brother, Chingwang, who had lately become a minister. Dress and setting in these photographs were entirely western, and the bride was a very sophisticated looking Ao girl.
